Main Area

Looking at Learning is the assessment tool used to monitor changes at the classroom level during any school improvement effort.

Looking at Learning:

  • measures who is leading the learning, how students are grouped, what students are being asked to do, the cognitive purpose of the instruction and the level of student participation.
  • creates learning profiles that can be displayed singly or as an aggregate. Changes to instructional strategies can be monitored to guide and verify the implementation and effectiveness of staff development efforts.
  • helps educators design and implement engaging instructional strategies with high level cognitive content.
